Rock Hill, NY - The Sleep Center at Crystal Run, located at Crystal Run Healthcare’s Rock Hill facility, has been granted accreditation by The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) –– making it the first such accredited sleep center in Orange and Sullivan Counties.
AASM is the national accrediting body for sleep disorders centers and laboratories for sleep related breathing disorders. AASM accreditation is the gold standard by which the medical community and the public can evaluate sleep medicine services. The Standards for Accreditation ensure that sleep medicine providers display and maintain proficiency in areas such as testing procedures and policies, patient safety and follow-up, and physician and staff training.
“Although our Sleep Center has been recognized and accredited by The Joint Commission, we believe that achieving the ‘Gold Standard’ specific to Sleep Medicine will be highly beneficial to our program in ensuring staff competencies and best patient care. Recognition as the first accredited Sleep Center in Orange and Sullivan Counties by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine is further evidence of our continuous strive for excellence” said Ernesto Cerdena, Planning and Operations Administrator at Crystal Run Healthcare. “In addition, upholding the Standards for Accreditation shows that we are dedicated to the advancement of our program and the field of sleep medicine,” said Dr. Steven Grundfast, Medical Director of The Sleep Center at Crystal Run Healthcare.
