Vishveshwarya Institute of Engineering & Technology (VIET), based out of Greater Noida, Phase IInd, Uttar Pradesh, today announced the accreditation received from National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). VIET is now starting new course for students in PGCM (Retail) from this year onward.
The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) will periodically conduct evaluation of technical institutions and programs on the basis of guidelines, norms and standards. The accreditation exercise is designed to be rigorous with several inputs such as quality of teaching, level of research, faculty expertise, evaluation of teachers, standard of infrastructure available in the campus, such as hostel facility, library, medical facility etc. These are taken into consideration in order to help the visiting accreditation team of experts to have holistic approach and arrive at a rational evaluation.
“Vishveshwarya Institute is more than just a hall of residence: it’s a place where you do a lot of living, studying and socializing.”
The campus placement record at VIET has seen a significant increase this academic year 2007-2008. Out of 600 students outgoing this year, 350 have already got placements. A majority of students have been picked up by TCS, L& T, Infosys, Accenture, Sapient HDFC, Reliance etc. New companies have also started visiting VIET campus in search of talent.
“The increase is mainly due to the intensive training of students & making them industry ready, thus enabling them to be productive from day one,” observes Sunil. “Another important reason is the increasing demand for trained personnel in the IT sector. This has reflected positively in our placement records of the college. Now companies are recruiting third-year students so as to create a pool of reserves for themselves.”
“Through accreditation from TCS, they will do a pool campus drive in VIET for next seven years, wherein they will organize for a three day long selection procedure in which candidates will be assessed on various skills through online tests, technical interviews & HR interviews.”
“Adding new course as PGCM (Retail) is just another step towards making VIET a one stop for all educational requirements. Our aim is to make education in NCR synonymous with Vishveshwarya Institutes. That is the dream we want to realize” said Mr. Sunil Jindal, Secretary, VIET.
