A leading hotel group is to open its first new build hotel costing £4.5 million in Lancashire.
The unnamed hotel will start trading in the middle of September in Marsh Lane in Preston.
Twenty jobs will be created by the 75-bedroom hotel which will also include 40 car parking spaces.
Merseyside-based BPS Developments has spent 18 months constructing the seven-storey development which is opposite the University of Central Lancashire.
Andy Townsend, chief executive of Legacy Hotels and Resorts, said this was the UK-wide group's first new build hotel.
"We are all really excited about the opening of this £4.5 million hotel because it marks a landmark in the company's history," he said.
"Father and son Eric and David Mahoney from BPS Developments have overseen the building work which has gone smoothly.
"We will be managing the hotel and we are currently recruiting for staff to work in various departments including reception and housekeeping.
"We will also need bar staff since we will be serving light meals and snacks throughout the day.
"On the ground floor we will have two small meeting rooms plus the reception desk which will also double up as a bar, and the breakfast room will be situated on the lower ground floor.
"We will have 75 en-suite bedrooms which will contain modern furnishings and plasma television screens and there will be free wireless broadband throughout the building.
"It is unusual for city centre venues to have on-site car parking but we will have the capacity for up to 40 spaces.
"Location is always crucial to the success of any hotel and we believe our position near the ring road will prove extremely important to families visiting their children at university and businessmen and women needing quality accommodation in Preston.
"We are due to open our doors for the first time in mid-September as we expand our portfolio into the north west of England and I am sure the hotel will prove to be a great success."
Legacy Hotels and Resorts, which was set up in 2005, currently operates and manages nine hotels throughout the UK.
