Mytown.ie is founded by Garry Bennett, who has been working on the site for the past 8 months. Garry has a wealth of experience in the internet industry, boasting 4 years of software engineering management experience with Yahoo! in London and has also worked for 12 months as Project Manager with a leading Australian web development company. Garry is a native of Ballyporeen, Co. Tipperary and studied a BSc. in Computer Applications at Cork Institute of Technology.
As broadband availability improves in Ireland, more people are using the internet to research and make decisions from what hotel or B&B they stay at, through to which plumber they call. Many towns in Ireland do not have a good web presence that provides relevant information representing the community; this is the gap that mytown.ie now fills.
