FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jun 07, 2008 – Candleriggs one of the best known restaurants along the way to Peggy's Cove has recent changed it's name to the Blue Nose Lobster and Chowder House making it one of the only authentic lobster houses around.

Owners John and Pat Gaudet have captured the essence of Nova Scotia at the Blusenose Lobster & Chowder House and The Wishing Well Quality Gift Shop. “We’ve taken Candleriggs and put our Cape Breton Spin on it,” say the couple, who are the fifth owners to occupy the space since 1857. The Gaudets reopened the gift shop in June 2005 and followed in October with the restaurant. In 2008, John and Pat changed the restaurant name to the Bluenose Lobster & Chowder House and the gift shop to The Wishing Well Quality Gift Shop to reflect the true spirit of Nova Scotia. What better place to experience the Maritime culture than in a restaurant with a fireplace on one side and an ocean view on the other. The Bluenose Lobster & Chowder House serves lobster ocean fresh to you from Ryer’s Lobster Pound next door. The chowders are a must try, and few can resist such a classic delight as fresh Nova Scotia mussels from the eastern shore. The Gaudets appreciate the artistic traditions that contribute to Maritime culture and cater to many local artists with a wide variety of unique and tasteful gifts, including pottery, granite lanterns, leather cribbage boards, handcrafted jewellery, blown glass, pewter and wood carvings to name a few. Nova Scotia honours family and friends, a tradition John and Pat take seriously and pass it on by treating each visitor like a member of their own family. They embrace their community through the service to the St. Margaret’s Bay Chamber of Commerce and host a New Year’s Eve get-together with the locals. Get inside Nova Scotia with a visit to the Bluenose Lobster & Chowder House and The Wishing Well Quality Gift Shop.
