(Washington, D.C.) Lively message boards. Lush photo galleries. Fabulous features. African-AmericanBrides.com has all those things. But that isn’t enough for the website’s publisher. She has just announced that she’s launching her site into the blogosphere. “This blog really is the feather in our cap,” says owner Erica Thompson Briggs.
The former broadcast news producer describes her website’s new blog as an up-to-the-minute source of trends, style news and opinion. “You know, I’m a journalist by trade. It was clear to me that if I were going to do a blog it would have to meet high standards.” And it does. Writers are constantly updating the blog with new trends, opinions, and pictures. If ever there was a blog that could be considered “glossy”, this is it.
The “digital diva” is already patched into cutting-edge industry news through well-informed internet sources. But Briggs has also tapped select wedding experts and guest bloggers to help her pen the blog. With so much talent on hand, the blog frequently delves into much more than weddings. It also explores issues surrounding marriage, motherhood, and news affecting women of color.

Briggs’ advice to other women considering starting websites, blogs or online magazines is simple. “Honestly?
When asked if she has any other projects in the works, Briggs says “Well, yes! Of course there are. Always. But, you’ll have to keep an eye on our blog for all the details.”
Erica Thompson Briggs is a public relations professional in the Washington, D.C. area. She publishes African-AmericanBrides.com, AfricanAmericanWeddingShop.com and AfricanAmericanWeddingHairstyles.blogspot.com.
