Film enthusiasts will now be able to purchase tickets to the Internationally acclaimed Flashpoint Film Festival on Islandstubs.com starting in May. This year's festival will be historic in many ways. The venue for the first time will be one of Jamaica's richest heritage sites, Fort Charles in Port Royal and will feature screenings of local and regional shorts and feature films. The festival which is hosted by Firefly Films, provides an avenue primarily for Caribbean filmmakers to showcase their work. Screening of feature films, shorts, documentaries, music videos, animation and video art will be done in conjunction with presentations and workshops conducted by local and international film experts.
Flashpoint 2008 will also set the stage for the historic opening of an audio visual centre at the Old Naval Hospital in Port Royal.
