Zumba is the dance/fitness workout that uses African beats and Latin rhythms to help participants get fit in a party like environment. Using an interval format each Zumba class combines dance and fitness moves for cardiovascular health, toning and strength building. Don’t be deceived by the excitement level you’ll encounter in each class, Zumba instructors are trained to make fitness fun. The creator of Zumba, Alberto “Beto” Perez stumbled upon the concept of Latin inspired fitness in his homeland of Columbia one day when he forgot his aerobics music. Grabbing what he could find from his car, traditional Latin music and meringue, a new excitement was born in his class that day. Building upon the Latin flavor and international zest Zumba was born. Now an international success access to local Zumba classes is just a few weeks away for New Rochelle residents! The Wellness Studio, operated by Just Us Women Productions will be hosting Saturday classes from 10:30am to 11:15am starting June 14th.
