New Report Forecasts 38% Growth in Philippines IT Sector This Year

The local vendors analysed include Aktus, Micro Sourcing, Somersault, BiPO – Digital, Infinite, Teledevlopment, Advanced Contact Solutions, Cebu Global, Teleservices, BPO Global Concepts and VoiceVille. International vendors evaluated include Fujitsu, HSBC EDP, ICT, ePLDT, NCO, PeopleSupport, Sitel, Telecech, NCO and Convergys.

The report finds that the country faces a number of internal and external challenges, despite its advantages of competitive wage costs, strong English-ready professional, U.S. cultural alignment and a relatively stable market friendly economy. The key challenges include relatively high levels of software piracy and intellectual property costs, moderately high risks of natural disasters and political issues.  

However, the report finds that Philippines will continue to effectively use its BPO export services success to build an IT outsourcing competitive positioning.
