Arcola Celebrates Raggedy Ann and Andy “Together Again”
19th Original Raggedy Ann and Andy Festival
Arcola, IL, June 14th and 15th - Raggedy Ann and Andy are together again in the National Toy Hall of Fame! The Arcola Chamber of Commerce invites you to bring your family together to celebrate the beloved rag dolls in the hometown of their creator Johnny Gruelle.
Andy is one of three toys to be inducted into the hall of fame this year. Raggedy Ann entered in 2002. The dolls earned the honor after bringing smiles to generations since Gruelle first brought them to life in 1915.
Raggedy Ann and Andy are known for the many adventures they embarked on and you can too at this year’s Adventureland!
The festival also has lots of unique entertainment. From the Old Fashioned Cracker Barrel Magic show to performances by Dave the Math Dog, it’s good fun the whole family will enjoy.
The Toyland Parade steps off at 3 o’clock on Saturday afternoon. You won’t want to miss the floats built by Arcola businesses and clubs, classic vehicles, Raggedy Ann & Andy Look-a-Likes and of course the Ansar Shrine Cycle Patrol and the Clown Patrol.
Raggedy Ann & Andy vendors will line the streets of Arcola Saturday and Sunday. Raggedy Land (http://www.raggedyland.com) of Macon, Georgia will exhibit and offer hundreds of licensed Raggedy Ann & Andy collectibles. Stop by the Raggedy Land booth and receive a free festival wooden nickel.
