The patented Rotating Cylinder Treatment System™ has been selected to treat mine wastewater at the Elizabeth Mine located in Vermont, US.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun 04, 2008 -
Ionic Water Technologies™, Inc. (IWT) is pleased to announce that the patented Rotating Cylinder Treatment System™ has been selected to treat mine wastewater at the Elizabeth Mine located in Vermont, US. IWT will be subcontracted to Weston Solutions, Inc. (WESTON®), the prime contractor providing environmental remediation services on site to the US Army Corp of Engineers. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is responsible for overall management of the remedial design and remediation/construction activities and is working for the U.S. EPA.

The Elizabeth Mine is an abandoned copper mine located in Orange County, Vermont. The mine operated from the early 1800s until its closure in 1958. Acid mine drainage generated on the site contributes high metal loads in nearby waterways. During the last several years, the Elizabeth Mine’s environmental impacts were the subject of studies by government and private companies and a concern of nearby communities.

IWT is pleased to be a part of this important remediation effort. The Elizabeth project is a significant platform to demonstrate the RCTS’s superior capabilities in treating the environmental effects of abandoned mine sites in eastern United States.
