PRLog (Press Release) –
Jun 03, 2008 – American Fork, Utah -Although the Internet is literally flooded with multimedia content for native and non-native English speakers, few resources are available for lower-level students who are just beginning their quest to master the English language.
For years, Randall Davis of Randall's ESL Cyber Listening Lab (
http://www.esl-lab.com) has created listening activities for high-beginning to advanced learners, but many visitors requested entry-level material for students who were just beginning. In response to this, Randall has create a new section of Basic Listening Quizzes that focus on topic such as names, basic greetings, directions, family, telephone conversations, bus travel, and shopping. Each activity has a Pre-Listening question or statement, followed by sample sentences on the topic, the listening activity, and a follow-up discussion exercise.
Once students have completed these Basic Level Quizzes, then they are encouraged to try to other listening activities on the site. "I wanted to create success-oriented activities for lower-level students so that they feel like they are making progress on my site," states Randall.
Randall is currently expanding this section of his site so that there will be plenty of different topics and activities from which students can choose. Students can also visit some of Randall's other sites including
http://www.dailyesl.com and
http://www.ezslang.com for more learning content.
