Civic Center Conservancy Presents: “Civic Center Outdoor Market & Café”

The Civic Center Outdoor Market & Cafe is downtown Denver’s award-winning farmers market with an urban flair. Bistro seating, tasty lunch fare, and Colorado grown produce and goods can be found every Wednesday at 11am from June 11 – September 24.

“Civic Center Outdoor Market & Café”


(DOWNTOWN DENVER) -- The Civic Center Outdoor Market & Cafe is downtown Denver’s award-winning farmers market with an urban flair.  Each Wednesday at lunchtime, Denver’s Civic Center Park will be transformed into the Civic Center Outdoor Market & Cafe.  Complete with bistro seating, tasty lunch fare, Everybody’s Music Series and Colorado grown produce and goods.

The award-winning Outdoor Market & Café will entertain downtown patrons each Wednesday from 11:00am to 2:00pm.  Civic Center Park is located in the heart of Denver between the City and County Building and the State Capitol.  The market will take place amid beautiful summer gardens in the park’s historic plaza; between the Voorhies Memorial and the Greek Theatre.  Visitors can enjoy café style seating while listening to live music next to the tranquil Seal Pond.

“People make parks and the Conservancy is dedicated to bringing people back to Civic Center,” said Chris Frampton president of the Civic Center Conservancy board of directors, “The award winning Outdoor Market & Café provides a glimpse of how this space can really live and breathe—a way for downtown workers, residents and visitors to grab a bite to eat, listen to good music, and experience a sense of community, while enjoying a Colorado summer day in one of Denver’s most historic parks.”

The market kicks off on June 11 and will run until September 24. (excluding August 27 due to the Democratic National Convention)

The Civic Center Outdoor Market & Café will feature organic fruits and vegetables, chutneys and sauces, peaches, pastries and breads, organic teas and coffees, smoked salmon, soups, pasta, and scrumptious pickles.  Busy workers can enjoy tantalizing lunch options from BBQ and Mexican food to gourmet lunch boxes and German sausage.    Over 30 vendors have signed up to participate this summer.

Patrons of the Outdoor Market & Cafe will be treated to Everybody’s Music Series, a weekly cross-cultural music experience.   Kicking off on June 11 with the contemporary bluegrass pioneer, Pete “Dr. Banjo” Wernick, the series will showcase talented artists representing a full array of musical styles and sounds.

Civic Center Conservancy is presenting the Civic Center Outdoor Market & Café with assistance from our generous sponsors: The Denver Post, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, City and County of Denver, Denver Parks and Recreation, East West Partners, EnCana, Noble Energy, 9 News, KCUV 102.3, Mortenson Construction, Foster Graham Milstein Calisher, Holme Roberts Owen, Humphries Poli Architects, JE Dunn, Kiewit Construction, and Wells Fargo. Tri-County Markets is producing the event.

Civic Center Park’s central location makes it easy to access.  The park is just a block off the 16th Street Mall and parking is located all around the park including street meters, surface lots and the Cultural Complex Parking garage at Broadway and 13th Avenue.  It is also located across the street from the Civic Center terminus of the 16th Street Mall shuttle and is on many bus lines.  Check with RTD for specific times and routes.

Civic Center Conservancy is a nonprofit formed in 2004 to help the Denver Department of Parks and Recreation restore, revitalize and enhance Civic Center Park.  This initiative will return the park to its historical role as the center of cultural life in Denver.
