First Coast Songstress Awakens Untapped Talent With Local Version Of Mtv’s Making The Band

Jacksonville’s own sultry neo-soul songstress Joy Dennis ignites the hearts of fellow musicians and vocalists by hosting her own rendition of MTV’s Hit show, Making the Band. Joy has shared the stage with most of Jacksonville’s hottest live bands at many familiar venues around the city . But now, as she prepares for the release of her new cd entitled “Therapy”, she invites and encourages anyone who shares her passion for performing music to join her at Bistro Avant Garde (across from Tinseltown) on Thursday, May  29, 2008 @ 6pm to audition to become a member of her own new  live band.

“We just need to stand up and take control of our destiny... It's time to take it back to the times when Jacksonville was the Hollywood of the South. It's time to start companies, invest and build a legacy for our children... It's also time to have some fun”.  - Quincy Benton of NightVizion Media, one of the organizers of the Making the Band Joy Dennis Style auditions.

The audition is open to all musicians and vocalists who are dedicated to their craft and who posses a willingness to take their  talents to new heights together as a band. The audition will consist of a brief mix,  mingle and a jam session, followed by having each contestant perform two songs of their choosing. Much like the MTV series, there will be three judges in attendance. This event is open to the public and admittance is free of charge.
