PALs Software today announced the addition of an interface that connects the PALS Medication Manager to Vigilan’s cornerstone product, The Administrator. Medication Manager enables Assisted Living operators and care providers to quickly and accurately manage Medication Administration Records (MARs) while eliminating manual medication ordering and tracking that can be time consuming, costly, and subject to error. With this new interface in place the resident data flows from the Vigilan software smoothly into the PALS Medication Manager software.
By using Medication Manager, owners and care providers of assisted living communities can manage MARs with ease and confidence. Updates including medication type, dosage, frequency, and route are made quickly and easily with a few simple clicks. Users can select from a list of pre-populated medications or add new medications as needed and they can use the built in links to web resources to learn more about the medications. Nurses can also customize each resident’s MAR with additional care services such as checking vitals, medication administration instructions, and warnings of potential side effects associated with the respective medication.
Medication Manager was created to support owners and operators in managing escalating operational costs associated with manual prescription refills, pharmacy communication and faxing, liabilities associated with medication administration, and safeguarding quality care.
