The Downtown Merchant Association announces the Canandaigua Wine Walk. Scheduled 4-6 p.m. on the first Saturdays of the Month, for June, July, and August, people are invited to sample Finger Lakes Wines on a walking trail of fifteen different merchants. Merchants include shops, galleries, and restaurants. Wines featured are from the Canandaigua Wine Trail, including Arbor Hill, Wilhelmus, Casa Larga, Imagine Moore, and Widmer.
Just start at any participating merchant, pay $5 for a commemorative etched glass, grab a ticket, and start sampling wines while visiting different businesses. There is also a drawing for every Wine Walk to win a gift. The association plans to continue Wine Walk all year if there is enough support.
“This is a way for tourists to try wine from our area, explore our beautiful city, and for locals to re-discovery what Canandaigua has to offer,” Don Stevens says, President of the Merchant’s Association. Along with the upcoming festivals, art walks, and concerts at the Commons Park, downtown continues to offer many a destination.
“Shop, Dine, Explore” is the Merchant's Association's theme, and it is evident with new merchants such as Simply Crepes, RVE Bike Shop, and more opening this summer. For locals who hadn't had time to re-discover Main Street, there are many new adventures to discover. “Wine Walk is a great way to reacquaint yourself with your downtown,” Don Stevens adds.
