Eco-Populace and the “green” front make a breakthrough today after being interviewed by the Kingsport, TN local newspaper. Eco-Populace welcomed Rain Smith, from the Kingsport Times News, to probe into the recent build in excitement of alternative energy due to rapid rises in crude oil prices. Smith, the videographer, came to Eco-Populace’
Smith interviewed the Co-Founders (CEO Michael Reynolds, President Spencer Cross, and EVP Marvin Sylvia) about their interest in green energy and soon realized Eco-Populace was much bigger than switching incandescent light bulbs out for fluorescents. Smith began to recognize that the small office on Center Street was the incubator for a company with plans to lead the way in the alternative energy market on a national level.
Reynolds, Cross, and Sylvia painted a picture for Smith that consisted of three stages of green projects available for clients: 1) Energy audits that measure current usage and identify inefficiencies in homes, businesses, municipalities, or warehouses; 2) Consumption reduction project implementation which takes the information gathered from the audit and puts it to work by actually reducing the energy usage without changing habits, only changing how the clients use the energy; and 3) Power system upgrade projects that bring step one and two together by removing all or part of the need for the electricity provider through solar panel systems and wind turbine systems.
