The new office, which currently has one team member, Alan Cook, with more hires planned, replaces the previous representation arrangement with Arnoul Media.
ninemsn Commercial Director Jason Scott said the time was right for ninemsn to establish its own presence in WA.
"The decision to having a dedicated sales team in Perth is part of ninemsn’s strategy to create a national footprint," Jason said.
"Perth is undergoing extremely strong economic and population growth and has a really creative and innovative advertising culture. Having people on the ground in Perth will allow us to work closer with our clients and agencies to deliver even better digital campaigns."
"We’ve already seen this happening with one of the first digital broadcasting packages, our new video advertising offering, being sold to a Perth based client," he said.
According to Roy Morgan Western Australians spend nearly 10 hours using the internet each week, making up 19 per cent of their weekly media time.
