Mathers Realty is sponsoring a food drive benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Mathers Realty agents will be going into neighborhoods in Mecklenburg and Union County to collect food donations from homeowners who wish to help. The drive will run from May 24 until June 8.
"Mathers Realty has been an active part of the greater Charlotte community for over 20 years, and it is our goal to help Second Harvest Food Bank in their efforts to feed the hungry right here in our own back yards," says Bill Mathers, President and Owner of Mathers Realty. "Most of us think about those less fortunate than ourselves during the holidays, but this is a year-round need".
Collection barrels will be at both Mathers Realty locations: 6701 Carmel Road, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC and 15080 Idlewild Road, Suite A, Matthews, NC. If you'd like to drop off a food donation rather than waiting for an agent to find you, please do so between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, between now and June 8, 2008.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina serves 19 counties in North and South Carolina. In 2006-2007, the Food Bank distributed over 20 million pounds of food and essential grocery items to almost 600 non-profit agencies and churches serving the needy as well as to food banks in other areas.
