Maven-based JAR Search Engine Released on findJAR.com

findJAR.com is a free search engine, which makes it possible to find JAR files by Java class names. It is based on the contents of the extensive ibiblio maven repository.

Vienna, Austria – findJAR.com is a search engine for Java developers, who are looking for JAR files containing required Java classes. It can be used to easily resolve NoClassDefFoundError and ClassNotFoundException problems. The search engine can be used free of charge on http://www.findJAR.com from now on.

The results provided by findJAR.com are primarily based on the contents of the large ibiblio maven repository. Currently, more than 16GB of JAR files are indexed. Almost 2 million class files contained in more than 16.000 archives can be searched right now. The underlying database shall be extended continuously in order to keep up with new versions and additionally relevant packages.

“As regards the inclusion of additional JAR files, we hope to receive interesting proposals from our user community”, states Jürgen Kuster, the founder of http://www.findJAR.com.

findJAR.com is part of the serFISH.com service network, where it also known as the jarFISH application. http://www.serFISH.com is dedicated to the provision of free added-value services.
