PRLog (Press Release) –
May 22, 2008 – The Best Book Tour series of reviews and interviews of captivating books and authors now has a review of Succession by Herbert Lobsenz at http://www.bestbooktour.com.
About the book: This edgy tale explores life, love and the pursuit of something more – could it be happiness? - set against the turbulent backdrop of the early 1960’s. Jake Garrison agrees to investigate a struggling typewriter company for Charles Carnusty - a man Jake suspects is sleeping with his wife, Diana, who is a successful businesswoman at Colepool Publishers. Although Jake and Diana both want children, their lives are increasingly headed in opposite directions, and when Diana announces she is pregnant at last, Jake is certain that he is not the father of her child. Not that he'll ever tell her… About the author: Herbert Lobsenz studied literature at Heights College, NYU, went into the army during the Korean War and, following Robert Jordan of For Whom The Bell Tolls, became an EOD specialist. After his discharge, he spent five years in Europe on the GI Bill studying at the Universities of Madrid, and Perugia and at the Courtauld Institute of Art. He read Hemingway, Tolstoy, Dickens, Shakespeare, Austen, and the King James Bible and wrote two novels. The second, Vangel Griffin (1961), was picked out of the Harper Brothers slush pile, won the Harper Prize, appeared on the Times best seller list, was reprinted in paperback by NAL, in England by Secker & Warburg. His short fiction has appeared in Mademoiselle, Paris Review, Antioch Review and other magazines. After nearly 30 years in business as CEO of Market Data Retrieval, he retired to go back to his original love: writing. The book is reviewed by author Stuart Nachbar, who blogs on education and politics for Educated Quest and wrote The Sex Ed Chronicles. You can read the latest reviews and interviews of fiction and non-fiction books, which range from thriller/adventure, children’s, humor, romance, science fiction, young adult, biography and history at Best Book Tour.
