Two of the MOUs were signed with institutions from the Middle East. The first is focused on the setting up of Money Tree Academies and implementation of the Money Tree program in schools around the Gulf region. The second MOU is for the utilization of the Money Tree course framework within a state run institution of higher learning and selected schools. A Singapore institution also signed an MOU for the rights to promote and market the Money Tree program as part of its educational programs it will soon offer. The total value of the contracts is estimated to be approximately RM8.9 million.
Michael Reyes, CEO of Money Tree Asia Pacific Limited said, “This is indeed an important milestone for us, as our content would now be used and taught by institutions of higher learning in 4 different languages across the globe.”
The Money Tree program which focuses on training kids aged 9 and above on personal finance, investments and entrepreneurship utilizes online and offline proprietary courseware to create a learning environment. This environment also includes the use of play money , credit cards, a banking system and a simulation of a stock market among others.
Reyes also added, “WCIT 08 has been a good outing for us. Besides the media exposure , networking with the global business fraternity has also put within our reach potential partners from China , Bangladesh and India.”
The Money Tree program is currently available in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. In Malaysia, the program is recognized by Open University of Malaysia’
