FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)May 21, 2008 – The courses were fully funded by the Learning Skills Council and delivered by MGTS associate Deby Homer at their Gulson Road premises.  The programme ran from January 2007 to March 2008 and offered employees basic, intermediate and advanced levels of learning.  The programme covered Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as an introduction to PC’s that included basic maintenance, file and desktop management, internet access and e-mail.

Staff from all areas of the business gave up their spare time to complete the sessions, which delivered over one thousand hours of training.  In recognition of employees’ achievements, certificates were presented by Bob Dunn – Commercial Manager at MGTS and Deby at a recent awards ceremony held at the Coventry plant.

“I’m pleased to have grasped this opportunity to further develop my skills,” commented Adrian Hilton who works in LTI’s Body In White department.  “It’s given me a greater understanding of computers that has improved my basic IT skills.  The training has also shown me how to create websites.  I will certainly look to further my education with any future training that is provided.”

Trained in Excel and PowerPoint, HR Administrator Chris Hunt said: “I found the course very easy to understand and simple to follow.  I’ve learned a lot of new skills that will greatly assist me in my job.”

Adam Wright, Training & Improvement Advisor at LTI Vehicles said: “This programme has shown that employees are willing to give up their spare time to benefit not only their own personal development but also the business as a whole.

“At LTI Vehicles we recognise the impact we have on the lives of a large number of people.  Training programmes allow employees to develop their skills and fulfill their potential.”

Bob Dunn, Commercial Manager at MGTS said: “We are pleased to have provided yet another successful employee development opportunity in partnership with LTI. The IT skills developed by these employees will serve them through the fast changing pace of the electronic worlds we live and work in today and I offer my congratulations to them. Our longstanding relationship with LTI Vehicles continues to benefit both of our organisations and LTI’s employees”.
