Discussions on a generic international marketing campaign for diamonds were launched recently at the biennial meeting of the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA).
The "global diamond manufacturing and promotion campaign" will strive to bring together major industry players with the aim of establishing a worldwide advertising scheme to promote diamond sales.
IDMA’s retiring President Jeffrey Fischer said that all of the major players expressed an interest in the campaign.
The next meeting regarding this new marketing effort is scheduled to take place in Mumbai, India, in September.
