May 20, 2008 – A free concert especially for children is sponsored by The Music Place, one of the largest private music schools, in the SF South Bay.
“Receive a Gift of Inspiration” will be a fun-filled event featuring the popular Pat Danna Jazz Trio who will offer a fascinating presentation of the banjo, guitar, violin and flute. Youngsters will be introduced to various musical genres to help them discern the various “voices” of the instruments. Other performers include: Soaring Spirit Dancers and original arrangements performed by well-known Venezuelan concert pianist Mr. Eleazar Inciarte.
Held at Hillside Church, 545 Hillsdale Avenue, San Jose, June 7th, 2008 at 2:00pm it will benefit the Music Place Scholarship Program which provides students, both children and adults, opportunities to acquire the necessary funds for lessons. Various ways to contribute to the Scholarship Program will be made available. After the concert a finger-food/hors d'oeuvres reception will be provided for all in attendance.
In addition to the professional performers, a select few of Music Place students who have received special performance recognition will take the stage. “This is probably the coolest thing we have ever done for our students and the community-at-large,” noted Mrs. Janice Morris, Co-Director. “We want to raise each child's enthusiasm about music by giving them a vision for what they too can accomplish.”
The Music Place has served the SF South Bay for 24 years, instructing over 10,000 students. They currently have over 600 students enrolled throughout the South Bay Area. Their signature program, Early Music Awareness, was written by Co-Director and Founder Mrs. Janice Morris, especially for preschoolers and primary grade students to encourage them to explore the elements of music in a fun-filled, dynamic environment.
