May 19, 2008 – World’s Largest Selection of Female Names On Scrapbook E-Store
Steamy Raimon has traveled to and lived in many places. He now resides in south New Jersey. Over time, his writing and art have appeared within the pages of many magazines like Easyriders, Hustler, and even the genteel Saturday Evening Post. His cartoons also appear in National Lampoon books. Today, on the internet, Steamy operates his e-store, Steamy’s Surf Shack, at www.cafepress.com/ surfshack. Fifteen sections carry his original ideas on t-shirts, coffee mugs, buttons, greeting cards, and practically everything under the Sun. You’ll find hilarious cartoons, strong political statements, Native American causes, occupational, hobby, alternative lifestyles, and yes, even Surfing themes! It’s quite an amazing place and well worth a visit the next time you surf the net.
Steamy, being a follower of kaizen (Japanese management system of small but constant improvements), says his store is ever-evolving. One of the newer sections added is called Steamy’s Scrapbook Circle. Scrapbooking is a highly popular hobby worldwide. While developing the new section, it dawned on Steamy that too many women never own anything personalized unless their name is something common like Mary, Sue, or Cindy. Can you say niche opportunity? Internet access, computer graphics, and on-demand systems to process orders make things impractical yesterday a reality today.
As Steamy saw it, the only thing keeping this inequity in existence was laziness. Already having the idea, he went on to dedicate hundreds of hours into building the scrapbooking section. Using the United States, a melting pot of ethnicity, as his target, Steamy compiled a list of the most popular female names (plus a few interesting ones). He came up with a total of 1,309. All 1,309 names have both a scrapbook nametag and scrapbook sticker. [There is also another subsection called Just For Fun.] Steamy says, “I’m glad I did it. It’s for ALL those women and girls out there…well, almost all of them!” Items start under $5.00. Spelling derivations such as “Dian”, “Diane”, “Dyan”, etc are included.
Steamy’s Scrapbook Circle has recently been submitted to Guinness World Records as the e-store with largest number of female names on the planet. Steamy is seeking exposure for his designs on television shows with hosts like Ellen DeGeneres, Martha Stewart, and Oprah Winfrey.
