LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Through a recently established wish-granting partnership with Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation (www.makingmemories.org)
In order to help the foundation’s wish recipients create their own Disney vacation memories, the Regal Sun will provide each special guest with up to six nights’ accommodations for themselves and their families, a complimentary Disney character breakfast and tickets to the MurderWatch Mystery Dinner theatre show, featuring an all-new, interactive CSI-style dinner show held every Saturday night at the property’s Lakeview restaurant.
According to Jay Leonard, general manager of the Regal Sun, the property will be granting its first wish at the end of April.
“Needless to say, we’re honored to host our first special guest and proud to partner with Making Memories to grant wishes to those women and families coping with breast cancer,” Leonard said. “Our goal is to bring a ray of sunshine to families going through an incredibly trying time and to bring loved ones together to spend some one-on-one time away from the stresses of doctors’ appointments, medical treatments and the other untold pressures of dealing with cancer.”
Co-founded in 1998 by the mother and daughter team of Fran Hansen and Anna Nelson, Making Memories’ mission is to grant wishes, including memory-making events, for metastatic breast cancer patients while providing support, education and awareness about the illness. To date, the foundation has fulfilled a variety of wishes including dream vacations, wedding gowns, Christmas gifts for children, video cameras to record memories and more.
