The Triangle’s Own Marsha Stayer: New President of the NC Chapter of NAPO

May 17, 2008 - PRLog -- The Triangle’s own professional organizer Marsha Stayer has become President of the North Carolina chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO). This prestigious position has a one-year term and provides leadership and innovation to the professional organizing community throughout North Carolina. The North Carolina Chapter has 50 members and 8 associated members throughout the state. Marsha Stayer is the 5th President of the North Carolina Chapter following former Presidents Josette Chmiel, Janice Russell, Geralin Thomas, and Eileen Stevie.

The professional organizing industry has grown rapidly over the last twenty years. Why? Because the lives of most Americans are becoming increasingly busier with no end in sight. On average, Americans waste about eight hours a week due to disorganization, according to NAPO’s statistics.

When asked about her plans as President of the NC Chapter of NAPO, Marsha responded, “I want to have speakers and extra activities to draw in new organizers and bring more experienced organizers to our meetings. I will do more to educate the public about what professional organizers do and the differences in the different services professional organizers offer. In addition, I will reach out to other organizers in the state.” Her passion for working with busy families and children allows Marsha to give families assistance in controlling clutter, managing their time and finding quality time to spend together.

Marsha Stayer of Stayer Organizing, LLC is based in Apex, NC. She has been a member of NAPO and the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization since 2006.
Marsha has been an organizer all of her life, but moved to professional organizing in 2006 after working in a full-time corporate position as a sales representative for GE Polymershapes, a plastic distributor. She developed her company after finding the benefits of organizing the homes of her friends and family. “People are so excited after they have completed organizing a room; it gives them a sense of freedom!”

Marsha moved to North Carolina with her husband from Ohio about nine years ago. Together, they have two golden retrievers and a cat. They are quite active in their community, volunteering at church, local hospitals and animal shelters. Marsha also enjoys hiking with her dogs, bike riding and spending time with friends and family.

NAPO is committed to developing, leading, and promoting professional organizers and the organizing industry. The North Carolina Chapter provides and encourages peer support, resources and education for each other. In addition, the NC Chapter is involved in community outreach and educating the community on the positive outcomes of healthy organizing habits.
