Petitions Certified for Kent Bjorklund for Osceola County Commissioner, District 3 (Florida)

Kent Bjorklund, a minister, business consultant, and Osceola County resident since 1983, is a strong candidate for Osceola County Commissioner, District 3. Petitions were certified by the Osceola County Supervisor of Elections on April 8, 2008.

PRLog (Press Release)May 15, 2008 – Kent Bjorklund is a strong candidate with proven leadership in business, education and non-profit organizations. He is currently running for Osceola County Commissioner in District 3, and has been in this race since November, 2007. On April 8, 2008 the Osceola County Supervisor of Elections office certified a sufficient number of petitions for Kent to qualify and get on the ballot in August. Qualifying week begins on June 16th.

Kent is determined to bring change to the Osceola County Board of Commissioners by adding fresh energy and strategic thinking that will help the county go to the next level. He brings a wide array of skills in finance, strategic planning, information technology, and resort development and operations that fit well with the demands of the position. Kent is a Beta Gamma Sigma graduate from the University of Florida with a Masters in Business Administration. He is a naturalized citizen and a registered Republican that has lived in Osceola County since June, 1983 and in District 3 since October, 1991.

Bjorklund is competing against three other Republicans: Wendell McKinnon, Tony Ferentinos, and Jeanne Van Meter. His Democrat opponents include Brandon Arrington, Carlos Cayasso, Armando Ramirez, and Marta Moczo-Santiago. The District 3 commission seat is being vacated by Ken Shipley who is retiring from the Board of County Commissioners after 12 years of service.
