My Very Special Ones

I have been inquiring from some government agencies that help special children (autism and related disorders. As a requirement, there must be a medical abstract or diagnosis about the disorder. We have  a referral and such abstract last year but due to the fact that we lack funds, we failed to use it or went to some government agencies to seek assistance. Now we ask them  if there's any, and they said the medical abstract or referral is not valid anymore because it was given last year. What??? How come? They mean to say that there's a possibility that my kids are now normal without autism disorder because the diagnosis was last year? There's no also government doctor, Developmental Pediatrician to see them and prove that my kids have autism spectrum disorder. We need to go to a private doctor and pay P1,000 each child for another(new) evaluation. I know that some professionals are just doing what is business because they spent a lot also to finish a degree like this. But why we need(my kids) to undergo another evaluation since they have taken last year? Why such result is not valid anymore? Well everything here is business. May God bless them...

To Who It May Concern:

Greetings!

Please help us. We have  two daughters who have been
diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder three years
ago in Philippine Children's Medical Center. Since
then, our world has been topsy-turvy not only because
of emotional distress, but also we don't know how to
cater their needs financially.

Shena Rane is 6.9 years old and Lorreane Pearl is 5.2
years old. She has been also diagnosed with hernia,
and we need funds for her operation. How I wish to
send them to normal school before or even in special
education school last year.

Instead, we brought them to Psychologists and
Developmental Pediatricians and we were referred to
therapy sessions, Occupational and Speech, before
sending them to Special Education School. But because
their therapy is so expensive, especially the speech
therapy, we failed to do so.

I've got no job at this time. My concern at present is to give my
autistic daughters a brighter future by letting them
cope to normal world in the years to come even if some
people won't accept and understand them.

Presently, I am looking and have been looking for an
individual, entity, or foundation that can help us
cater their needs, like sending to special school, or
even help us for my daughter's hernia operation. Or if
possible, (if any) some educational materials that
could help them to speak, or for parents to empower
them to do the job instead of a therapist. Or anything
that could help us cater their needs, we will gladly
and gratefully welcome it. But as I browse some
websites, they only ask for donations.

At this point in time, we are so down emotionally and
financially( and even our moral and courage are so
low).

We hope you can help us even emotionally.

Thank you and may God bless you.

Truly,

Roselo L Benotapa
