Tsp Is Goin’ For The Gold

TSP Spices Makes it to the Silver Finalist Round of 2008 National Association for the Specialty Food Trade, Inc.(NASFT) Awards Competition

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)May 15, 2008 – The Seasoned Palate, Inc., has made it to the Silver Finalist rounds in Part 1 of the 2008 NASFT awards competition, the specialty food industry's premier product competition. There were 1,500 submissions across 32 categories, and tsp spices qualified in two categories. The Sweet Basics spice collection was chosen as a finalist in Outstanding Food Gift and tsp spices’ Spice Basics was chosen as a finalist in Outstanding Innovation in Packaging Design or Function. The next and final round of judging determines the Sofi Gold winner from among the five finalists in each category. The judging takes place on Sunday, June 29 at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York.

Up for the Outstanding Food Gift award, tsp spices’ Sweet Basics spice collection is the perfect combination of spices for baking sweets, blending chai, or adding depth of flavor to curries, rubs and stews. This collection contains one can each of organic allspice, organic anise seed, organic cardamom, organic Korintje cinnamon, organic cloves and organic nutmeg. Each spice can in this collection contains 12 one-teaspoon packets of these sweet spices, pre-measured for the ultimate convenience. Sweet Basics makes a terrific gift for newlyweds, graduates, or anyone who cooks.

Recognized in the Outstanding Innovation in Packaging Design and Function category, the Spice Basics collection enables cooks to have fresh spices on demand. Instead of packaging spices in see-through bottles or loose in tins where they quickly lose their flavor, tsp spices’ innovative pre-measured, foil-lined, airtight packets preserve flavor and give these top-quality organic spices a shelf life measured in years, not weeks.

In addition to preserving freshness, tsp spices’ unique packaging is convenient to use and easy to store. The six spices in Spice Basics are separated into designer tins that beautifully fit into any storage area. Within each tin are 12 one-teaspoon, airtight packets, ensuring the utmost freshness. Fresh-flavors, convenience and style all make tsp spices’ Spice Basics a top contender in this category.

“We are very excited to be named Silver Finalists in two different categories,” says Katie Luber, president and co-founder of The Seasoned Palate, Inc.

“This is a very prestigious competition, and we are truly honored,” adds Sara Engram, spice president and co-founder of the Baltimore-based company. “We take pride in the quality of our products as well as their presentation and packaging, so it’s wonderful to be recognized in these categories.”

tsp spices is Luber and Engram’s way of making it easier for cooks everywhere to produce healthy, delicious meals. Their products make measuring spoons obsolete and also protect spices from light and air to ensure freshness and the fullest flavor. With tsp spices, cooks don’t have to use the same flavor combination time and time again. Instead, these handy packets allow for easy creation of any combination that strikes one’s fancy. Stored in handsome designer tins, tsp spices offer a reprieve from spice cabinet chaos. They also make a perfect gift for any food-loving friend.

The National Association for the Specialty Food Trade is a not-for-profit business trade association established in 1952 to foster trade, commerce and interest in the specialty food industry.
