Long Distance Rates to Pakistan Double

PRLog (Press Release) – May 13, 2008 – The Pakistani Telecom Authority (PTA) announced an increase in the termination rate charged by the country's telecom companies. The announcement followed increased pressure from the country's telecom companies that had been lobbying for a standard rate increase.

Several years ago the PTA lowered rates to discourage illegal telephony traffic to the country. The PTA's security has been upgraded to detect illegal traffic and the rate increase quickly followed.
