Tuileries Plaza, in partnership with North Kansas City Hospital, will host the Kids Get Ready 4 Summer Health and Safety Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 17 at Tuileries Plaza. This free event will offer activities that every member of the family will enjoy.
The Kansas City Police Department will have a free Kids ID Program, complete with fingerprints and photos. KCPD will also offer bicycle safety information, and families are encouraged to bring their helmets to check for a secure fit. The LifeFlight Eagle and a KCFD fire truck will be on-hand, and MAST will combine fun and first-aid at their teddy bear ambulance clinic. Both new and experienced drivers can get a realistic feel of a car crash in Missouri Highway Patrol’s Seatbelt Convincer.
North Kansas City Hospital will offer nutrition information, smoking cessation information and blood pressure checks for adults and details on the hospital’s Shapedown / Get Fit! program. The YMCA will be available to provide information on water safety and swimming lesson programs.
Children are invited to visit the Information Booth and participate in the Passport to Fitness program. Children who have their Passport stamped at 15 or more exhibits will receive a free coupon and will be automatically registered to win a gift basket of prizes. Other activities will include face painters, balloon art and a bouncing-good time in the inflatable obstacle course.
