May 13, 2008 – Mithun Chakraborty will play Salman Khan’s father in Vijay Galani’s film Veer, directed by Anil Sharma. The role demands that Mithunda goes bare-chested for a major part of the film. As a result, the actor has to religiously work out till the movie goes on the floors in August.
It is learnt that Mithun wanted to take up a challenge and Veer seems to be perfect for him. He has told the makers that he will hit the gym everyday for two hours to get the desired physique. The film also has him do a lot of horseback riding as well.
Mithun has installed a lot of gym equipment at home to work out.
Veer, a period action flick, has been penned by Salman. A new girl will be cast opposite the actor. The producer and the director are currently in London location-hunting. Some British actors are also being signed for the project.
