May 13, 2008 – Recently, Mallika Sherawat faced the wrath of Hindu Makkal Katchi, a Hindu political outfit in Chennai for making an appearance in revealing clothes at the music premiere of her film, Dasavatharam in Nehru Stadium, on April 25.
Kanirajan, an activist from the political outfit, filed a complaint against Mallika saying that she hurt the sentiments of the Tamil people and their culture by wearing a dress that was too short by their standards.
He also objected to her sitting cross-legged in the presence of the chief minister.
However, the southern star, Rajnikanth intervened and tried to settle matters.
Rajnikant, who is known to help people when needed, personally called the organisation and told them that it was not fair on Mallika especially since she was a guest of the state.
At his behest, the organisation took back the complaint.
