Veteran and Military Open House Event Sunday May 18th 1-4pm

Raleigh Custom Home Builder and local lenders will offer information about building, buying and financing a home, with emphasis on special considerations for Military and Veteran homebuyers

May 9, 2008 - PRLog -- Raleigh, NC  – Raleigh custom home builder Stanton Homes is co-hosting a Veteran and Military Open House Event in Chatham County with local lender Meridian Residential on Sunday May 18, from 1-4pm.

Both a licensed general contractor and local lenders will be present to answer questions about Building a Home, Buying a Home, and Financing a Home, with an emphasis on special opportunities for Military and Veteran homebuyers.

“We want to help de-mystify the process of home buying or building in today’s environment,” said Stan Williams, CEO of Stanton Homes. “There are special considerations for Military and Veteran families, and we want to make sure that these families are aware of all their options.”

A hot-off-the-grill free lunch of hotdogs, hamburgers, chips and soda will be available for those in attendance.

Potential homebuyers will be able to tour Stanton Homes models in beautiful Chatham County, as well as learn more about the building process for their own homes.

They will also be able to learn more about “Stanton Homes for Heroes,” a special program which offers an exceptional three percent discount off any Stanton Home, whether complete, under construction, or custom designed on a Stanton Homes lot or the buyer’s. This discount is available for all Veterans, retired, and active duty military, including all branches of the Armed Forces, Reserves, and National Guard, who have served honorably for at least one year.

“The discount really adds up,” said Williams. “For example, it would amount to $7500 off a $250,000 custom home.”

Attendees at the Veterans and Military Open House Event will be able to talk one-on-one with Steve and Eleanor Thorne of Meridian Residential, who have expertise in all the financial aspects of Military and Veteran home buying and building, including the following types of questions:

•   What’s the difference between VA loans and other types of financing?
•   What kinds of construction loan options are available?
•   How does the VA fee structure change when used for the first, second or third time?
•   What is my best financing option in today’s environment?

They will also be able to talk one-on-one with Stan Williams, a licensed general contractor, and members of his custom home building team who will answer questions like these:

•   What’s the approximate cost for a septic system on my lot? (Bring your septic permit and your plot map if possible)
•   Should my new home include a basement?  How much will that add to the cost?
•   Can I make changes to a floor plan I like?  (Bring a printed copy of your floor plan, and we’ll go over each change with you)
•   Can I add a third car garage easily to this particular floor plan?

“If you’re building a home anywhere in this region, we want to provide insights into understanding your options,” said Williams. “We have the utmost respect for our military families and Veterans. This is one of our ways of showing our appreciation of all that they do for all of us.”

Anyone with questions about a home they’re thinking of building can email the home plan to Stanton Homes at info@StantonHomes.com.

If submitted by Wednesday, May 14, a Stanton Homes representative will be able to provide a completed free building cost estimate during the Military Open House Event, including questions regarding what to look for in a building quote.

No purchase of blueprints is necessary.  However, please provide a link to an online floor plan where possible, when requesting a preliminary estimate.
