Written by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in the early nineteenth century, Faust has been never been out of print since. Touting numerous english translation versions, the translation by Bayard Taylor is singularly unique in that Taylor kept the original poetic meter of the work, a feat all the more remarkable in that the rhythm and rhyme closely match the original german.
