Daltrey revealed, "I had a very, very dramatic experience with my son when he was nine months old. He had gastro difficulties, started throwing up, could not keep any food down and turned into skin and bone. At the hospital, they did every test to him, and in the end they just handed him back to me. My wife and I were in bits. My poor baby. The kid was dying. It was terrifying. I thought, there's got to be something. I'd heard of homeopathy, so I found a local guy in the Yellow Pages and took my boy there. He gave him some powders. Within two weeks he was putting weight on, keeping the food down. The trouble recurred periodically for a couple of years, but he's now 27, a fit and healthy young man.”
Daltrey further explained that he has seen other miraculous results from homeopathic treatment, "The bizarre thing is that I've got a chiropractor friend in LA whose baby landed up in exactly the same state. He thought he was about to lose him. But I recommended homoeopathic remedies, and he recovered too. That's God's honest truth. Now I bet doctors would say, 'Oh they'd have got better anyway'. But I can't believe that."
Roger Daltrey is not alone amongst leading rock and rollers who have benefited from homeopathic medicine. Dana Ullman, MPH, author of The Homeopathic Revolution: Why Famous People and Cultural Heroes Choose Homeopathy, asserts, “Many of the most famous rockers have openly expressed appreciation for homeopathy, including Tina Turner, Cher, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Annie Lennox, and even Daltrey’s fellow band member Pete Townshend.”
Ullman's new book reveals that TIna Turner was suffering from tuberculosis in the 1970s until she was cured with homeopathic medicine, and Cher had had frequent bouts of pneumonia and chronic fatigue in the 1980s that forces her to stop performing for two years...until a homeopathic doctor cured her.
Ullman further notes, “Even before rock and roll, many of the most respected musicians of all time were users and appreciators of homeopathy, including Beethoven, Chopin, Paginini, and Wagner. Even more recently, a wide variety of world-class musicians have acknowledged the power of homeopathy, including Ravi Shankar and Dizzy Gillespie.”
Ullman’s research has uncovered an impressive history of famous people and cultural heroes who have advocated for homeopathy, not just musicians. Ullman revealed, “I have found stories from 11 American Presidents and numerous world leaders, 7 popes, and innumerable literary greats, corporate leaders, and celebrities.”
When Roger Daltrey was asked what other alternative medicines has he used, he replied, “Oh, you name it, I've done it. My experience of alternative medicines is that they all work for certain people. You are unique and you have to find the right thing for you. But, of course, alternative therapy is up against huge vested interests.”
Ullman added, "People previously called those of us interested in homeopathy as 'health nuts,' when, in fact, many of the smartest, most successful, and most talented people of the past 200 years have used or advocated for homeopathy."
