Battalion Chief Robert P. Avsec (Ret.)
PRLog (Press Release) –
May 08, 2008 – Retired Chesterfield Fire & EMS (Chesterfield, Virignia) Battalion Chief Robert Avsec has created a new venue on the Internet for the communication of vital fire safety information to the public through his website, FireSafetyProtectionPro.com. Visitors to the site at www.firesafetyprotectionpro.com, will find a daily blog posting on a fire safety topic written personally by Avsec. The website also includes links to other sites where the public can obtain more information on fire safety and fire safety products.
"I'm looking to create a dialogue about fire safety with people via this exciting new medium," said Avsec. "During my entire career information and education about fire safety has been "one-way," according to Avsec, "Most departments--
and mine was no different--focus their limited resources on children in the schools, we forget about the adults." Avsec is seeking to make inroads to adults about fire safety through the blog postings and responding to comments people post on the site.
"Last year almost 4000 people in the US died as a result of fires, most of them in residential dwellings, their homes," said Avsec, "And hundreds of thousands more were injured and families ruined because of fires, the majority of which are the result of human behavior. My hope is that this website might be the beginning of some national dialogue to start making a difference."
