May 7, 2008 - PRLog -- Famed Comedian Bruce Vilanch attempted the Kobe Bryant car jump stunt in a pair of Gravity Defyer shoes (http://www.gravitydefyer.com). The spoof video shows Vilanch putting on a pair of Gravity Defyers while his friend tries to talk him out of what he is about to do (http://www.brucegetshit.com). The result, Vilanch gets distracted by his friend and gets hit by a Semi Truck never having a chance to jump.

Now, the Gravity Defyer Shoes he wore in the infamously hilarious spoof video are being auctioned off on ebay for $15,000 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300223051722&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=020) to raise money for “The Vilanch Fund for Accommodating Lifeguards” among other favorite charities of Vilanch. The auction was listed this Wednesday, May 7, 2008. Vilanch scripted most of the Academy Awards telecasts over the last decade, two of which won Emmys, including the one featuring Billy Crystal’s Hannibal Lecter entrance. He has written for The Tony's, The Grammy's, The Emmy's, and just about every other award show to brighten your television screen. He also participates and volunteers at almost every charity function, especially those dealing with GLBT issues.
