FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)May 07, 2008 – HockeyStars is a social networking site for minor hockey players, coaches, parents and volunteers that will officially launch to the public in time for the 2008-09 hockey season.

Powered by Citizens Bank of Canada, HockeyStars is where players will come to connect with their teams and other teams from around the world, and where managers and coaches can use online management tools developed specifically for them to make team communication and operations easier.

Before we launch in the fall, we’re holding a contest for those who want to share their hockey moments called, The HockeyStars Best Hockey Highlight Contest.

It’s easy to enter, and you could win some great prizes including:

•   Grand prize: $1,000 on a Visa gift card
•   Second & third prizes: Xbox 360 Elite™ with the brand new NHL 09©
•   Prizes for voting: 2 x Sony™ DVD Camcorders

Here’s how it works: think of your favourite hockey highlight that was captured on video or in a photo. This could be a first winning goal, or a road trip with your team. Whatever you think is your best hockey highlight.

To enter, submit the photo or video along with a brief story (optional, 250 words max.) that tells us something about your Best Hockey Highlight. The contest runs May 6 to June 9, 2008. Please note, clips of copyrighted materials will not be accepted.

On June 16, 2008, the 10 best highlights of the bunch, as decided by our panel of judges, will be posted on HockeyStars.com. Participants can then vote for their top three favourites. The three highlights with the most votes will win one of three great prizes. And you can win even more prizes just for voting.

Check out www.hockeystars.com to enter or for more details.

About Citizens Bank
Citizens Bank is built on the premise that all companies have a responsibility to use their resources to make a positive difference in the world around them. Formed by Vancity in 1997 as a branchless, national bank that would take the largest credit union in Canada beyond the borders of B.C., we were the first and we’re still the only bank with a clear ethical policy. Corporate social responsibility is more than a catch-phrase, it’s part of our DNA. We’re available 24/7 on the Internet, or on the phone through our National Contact Centre, where we offer a broad range of financial products and services.

They can share game plans, schedules, statistics, photos, videos and information with teammates, family and fans.

What does banking have to do with hockey? Well, some banks open a lot of new branches. At Citizens Bank, we’re opening social networking sites—small, online communities built around a common interest, like hockey. And as a bank that is focused on corporate social responsibility, we want to give back to the community of hockey by recognizing its real stars.
