Each year, the Salt Creek Grille, Rumson, celebrates its anniversary by holding a Wine and Martini Tasting Fundraiser to benefit a carefully selected, non-profit organization in the community. In the past years, over $350,000 has been raised by the Salt Creek Grille through this annual event and a year-long $1 menu donation program.
Kidz Kare was founded in 2006 by local teens and Susan Dulczak, clinical director, to offer support and friendship to children and young adults with serious illnesses who are hospitalized at the Valerie Center at The Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical, Long Branch.
100 percent of the proceeds from the event go directly to the charity as unrestricted funds offering a financial boost to the charity. Salt Creek Grille Regional Partner, Steve Bidgood, calls on his purveyors to donate food and beverages. Salt Creek Grille donates the room, labor and any other costs.
“Thank you Steve, for your thoughtfulness, your vision, and your heart! “ said Lu-Ann Russell, Special Events Director, Monmouth Medical Center. “Kidz Kare and patient requests/needs will benefit from these funds!”
Steve Bidgood’s daughter Shauna, who is co-president for Kidz Kare, announced at the event that the funds will be used to purchase flat-screen TVs for the patients and comfortable “overnight”
Regional Major sponsors were Designline Construction, McLoone’s Restaurants, Monmouth Medical Center, Guaranteed Landscaping, Plantation Shutters, and the Fred Whiteley Family.
“This year is a particularly special one for me since Salt Creek Grille is celebrating 10 years in Rumson and my because of my daughter’s involvement with Kidz Kare,” said Bidgood. “Since day one it has been our mission to support charities that help kids.’
“It was a good day when Salt Creek Grille came to Rumson,” said Bob Sickles, owner Sickles Market.
