Canadian Venture Development Company Achieves Key Milestone with Completion of Successful Commercial Pilot Program of its MPowRx Anti- Snoring Appliance.
Calgary, AB – April 30, 2008 – Calgary based Tech Avenue Ventures Corp. announced today that it has concluded a successful commercial pilot program for its clinically proven MPowRx anti-snoring appliance in association with four dental clinics, in Calgary, Alberta, selected for their demonstrated leadership in adopting innovative technologies.
The response from participating clinics in the pilot program was very positive. “We found outstanding acceptance for the MPowRx appliance from our patients, who greatly appreciated the affordability of this new product”, says Dr. Stephan Hrach of Kearns, Hunt & Hrach Dental Care. “It is exciting to have an effective tool available that can be offered to a broader patient base”, adds Dr. Hrach
The MPowRx Snoring Solution was developed by Calgary dental researcher Dr. Leslie Dort MSc, DDS Dip ABDSM, to address the large unmet need for a simple, economical and clinically effective over-the-counter (OTC) solution for snoring, which impacts nearly 60 million people in North America. A substantial number of sufferers (98 percent) simply ignore their condition or seek the convenience of over-the-counter remedies that lack clinical efficacy. More effective custom devices are available but come at high expense and inconvenience resulting in very low adoption of these treatment options. The MPowRx device breaks down these barriers, giving patients an effective “first line” treatment option at an affordable price.
The pilot dental program was designed to measure consumer acceptance, product efficacy in a non-clinical setting and fine tune the marketing and distribution strategy for Canada. “The pilot program has exceeded our expectations on every level”, says Gijs van Rooijen of Tech Avenue Ventures, “and we are accelerating plans for a full scale national launch of the MPowRx Snoring Solution.
