The blog MetalMiner has won two awards this month for outstanding content. MetalMiner provides sourcing and trading intelligence for global metals markets, covering green sourcing, lean sourcing, global pricing trends, and purchasing strategies.

May 1, 2008 - PRLog -- Shortly after winning a Blog of the Day Award this April, MetalMiner, a website that provides daily market intelligence and insight on the global metals markets, was also selected as a Best of the Web Blog. MetalMiner is available online at http://www.agmetalminer.com and offers sourcing and trading intelligence for metals purchasers, metals traders, and metals fanatics.

“Best of the Web” tracks the sites that are considered best in class. According to the site, http://www.botw.org, “To rank among the Best of the Web, a site must adhere to the strict criteria of editors who ensure that it contains substantive unique content, navigates in a user-friendly manner, contains no broken links or pictures, is up and running 24/7, and conforms to universally accepted web standards.” MetalMiner’s unique content on metals ranges from global pricing trends and commodity risk management strategies, to topics such as green sourcing, lean sourcing, metals markets capacity constraints, forecasting, M&A activity, and purchasing strategies.

Blog of the Day Awards similarly “offer the best selection of weblogs and famous blogs on a variety of topics,” reads the site, http://blogofthedayawards.blogspot.com. MetalMiner was named Blog of the Day on Monday, April 14.

MetalMiner was introduced to the blogosphere in early December of last year, and monthly readership has steadily grown. Commentators Lisa Reisman and Stuart Burns, co-founders of sourcing specialist and consulting group Aptium Global Inc., have sourced and traded metals products around the world. The authors of dozens of articles, sourcing tools, and white papers, Reisman and Burns use MetalMiner to share strategies, insights, and trends for cost avoidance and cost savings opportunities for metals related purchases. In addition, the site has developed to include sourcing tools, such as MetalSaver, cost-savings intelligence that helps manufacturers identify ways to save money on metals purchases based on the strategies Aptium Global Inc. has used to help companies save money on raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products.
