Working At Home Saves Money

How working at home is making it affordable for individuals with our economy. Websites and forums have been formed to make it easier to find jobs.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 29, 2008 -
The trend seems to be outsourcing American jobs, but that trend is reversing now that gasoline prices and inflation have made it incredibly difficult for companies to compete. Trucking, delivery, produce and many other industries are adversely affected by the rising cost per gallon of crude oil, which has now hit all-time highs. Many companies have decided that it is prudent to develop and adopt technology as a tool to build a workforce while gas prices now mean many are spending close to $100 to fill their gas tanks.

What was once a rare occurrence is now becoming more commonplace as WAHMs (work at home moms) are now more commonplace. According to recent statistics, the numbers of workers who now are staffing home-based call centers has tripled since 2000. Thanks to the internet and better more sophisticated call-routing technologies, more companies are finding that they can outsource their order taking, sales, problem solving and customer service to home-based workers.

What many do not realize that you may be calling your local cable provider for example, but you are speaking to a home-based worker on the other side of the country. Many are working as editors, proofreading, online tutors, blogs, and researchers. Thousands are working as customer service workers. These workers are taking orders or problem solving for companies such as Sears, HSN, American Express, Cruise lines, Walgreens, Staples, Circuit City, Disney, ProFlowers, UHaul, ShopNBC and more.

Exactly how mothers, fathers, students, retirees and more are finding employment opportunities is by embracing the same technologies that allow them to work from their homes. By the use of web forums, search engines, and job sites, many are finding opportunities that are not available at your job service or the classified employment ads in your local Sunday paper. Individuals who are limited in traditional employment opportunities or dissatisfied with their career path create many of these sites. One such site, The Work At Home Mafia, was the brainchild of a forty-something who did not want to work retail, food service, or limited office work. By using a forum template, the site was created over the course of weekend and in two short months has listed employment opportunities for both phone and non-phone positions.

Many of these sites not only offer employment leads but advice, information and support for others how are living or trying to live this lifestyle. These individuals share frugal tips, money saving ideas and ways to live on limited means. It makes it possible to adjust to the rising cost of gasoline, utilities, housing and more. For more information, you can check out http://www.workathomemafia.com to see how to search, apply, and work from your home to succeed.
