Apr 29, 2008 – The Jamaican Associates Inc. a nonprofit organization, on April 26, 2008 elected Plaintiffs Discrimination Attorney Neil Osborne as it's new President to lead the organization over the next two years. As the oldest continuously operating Jamaican organization in the United States, the Jamaican Associates Inc. for almost 75 years, has operated at center of social, economic and political empowerment issues affecting Jamaicans, Caribbean descents and people of color in Massachusetts.
Atty. Osborne stated that the organization’
s future growth will require reaching out and connecting with other local nonprofits as well as other national civic Caribbean organizations. With the aid of newly elected offices: Vice President Barry Llewellyn, Treasurer Verna Llewellyn, Secretary Enid Dawson and Asst. Secretary Paulette Wilkinson Atty. Osborne is committed to growing the membership and establishing a permanent home in Boston for the organization to continue its charitable work in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and abroad.
