To achieve the award the franchisee had to have a 96% average for the year in their mystery shop scores and a 96% average in their Quality, Service, and Cleanliness evaluations done by Wingstop franchise business consultants.
Doss, an African American businessman, was born and raised in Kenosha and opened the first Wingstop four years ago in Kenosha and in the state of Wisconsin. Doss then opened his second Wingstop in Sturtevant /Racine three years ago. An experienced restaurateur, he had a career working with the McDonalds Corporation for 26 years before joining Wingstop.
“I am so appreciative of the welcome that I have received from our customers to this new brand,” said Doss. “As a business owner in my hometown, I am proud and humbled by this award and the support of the community.”
The Top Gun Awards were established by the chain to recognize the best of the best operators in the Wingstop system. The name alludes to the Navy’s term for their top pilots, a tribute to the chain’s aviation theme. It was designed to keep system-wide focus on the basics of strong operations: great food, service and clean restaurants, says Ryan Kaul, Wingstop senior franchise business consultant.
“2007 was our first full year with the program and we know it works well because the Top Gun winners sales averages outperformed the company’s sale averages,” said Kaul. “This proves the basis of the program, specifically, strong operations has an impact on sales.”
