The Three Country Tour which can certainly be described as tried-and-tested – tested by our most critical customers – our staff – returned to the office to tumultuous applause from senior management and our international sales team. In essence the tour encompasses the three neighbouring countries of South Africa, Mozambique and Swaziland, beginning and ending in South Africa.
The tour visits not only the Big Five safari destination of the Kruger National Park, but also the Big Five Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Reserve, that is less well-known, but equally as beautiful and is heralded for saving the white rhino from extinction! Mozambique is all about pristine sun drenched beaches and all the fun to be had at a coastal resort, from SCUBA diving, snorkelling, deep sea fishing, fly-fishing and horse rides amidst the breaking surf – delicious adventure. Swaziland is the smallest country in Africa, and against a mountainous backdrop, our guests will discover the culture of the ancient Khoisan (Bushmen). We visit the oldest known mine (Ngwenya) in the world, that dates back to 42000 BC, as well as fascinating ancient rock paintings that tell the story of the lives of the ancient nomad hunter/gatherers of the Khoisan.
Other highlights of the tour include a visit to the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park (Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park) which is a proclaimed World Heritage Site and the Thembalethu Refuge for AIDS orphans, all within the borders of South Africa, whilst in Mozambique, guests will also enjoy a ferry ride across Maputo Harbour to Catembe Island.
Wildlife, remote wilderness areas, ancient culture and nature both within the African bush and along the coastline of Africa, where the warm waters of the Indian Ocean caress the shoreline, is what this tour is all about.
