FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Apr 28, 2008 – IRVINE, CALIF. - Award winning KTGY GROUP, INC., is pleased to announce that the Building Industry Association (BIA) of Southern California and the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Northern California have recognized KTGY as a finalist in six categories in the prestigious MAME Awards competition including Best Community, Best Attached Home and Best Architectural Design.

“We are quite proud of the fact that KTGY has consistently been recognized over the years for its expertise in high-density, attached housing and urban infill solutions, as well as ‘green’ architecture,” said KTGY’s Jill Williams, AIA, principal and designer. “It is all about balancing the density, lifestyle, parking, construction costs, style and eco-friendly design. The ‘Rowtown’ typology used in our project, Vantage of Palo Alto in Palo Alto, Calif., provides a detached feel in higher density housing, creating value and desirability. Its eco-friendly design incorporates solar panels to aid in affordability plus green materials and roof-integrated photovoltaics as a standard showcase of an eco-friendly package of green/energy-efficient measures.” KTGY is a member of Build-It Green and U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

City Square, a high-density, urban-infill community of 102 townhomes in Escondido, California, represents a pioneering revitalization effort in downtown Escondido, setting the standard for future development in the downtown core area. The project provides superior purchase opportunities for buyers seeking moderate pricing in one of the nation’s costliest regions, and the design and functional value that supports their investment.

City Square was recognized by BIA of Southern California as a MAME Awards finalist in four categories: the Best Attached Home Plan - Under 1,500 Sq. Ft. for Plan 1, Plan 2 and Plan 3; and the Best Attached Community of the Year MAME Award. Barratt American of Carlsbad, Calif. is the builder. Presented by the Sales and Marketing Council of the BIA of Southern California, this is the 33rd year for the celebrated MAME Awards in Southern California. The winning projects were announced at the annual awards show on April 19, 2008.

“City Square’s upscale, affordable design draws young singles, couples and small families, as well as local empty nesters and retirees,” says Jirair Garabedian, AIA, LEED AP, project designer at KTGY. “Street level townhome entries with raised stoops and available workspace areas reinforce City Square’s urban character, and the three distinctive townhome plans offer residents abundant natural light, expansive social areas and the convenience of functional space design.”

City Square has garnered many recent accolades including two Silver Awards at the prestigious The Nationals awards competition in the categories of Best Attached Home Plan Priced Under $500,000 for its Plan 1 and Attached Community of the Year – Suburban. Barratt American is the project’s builder. The project also earned three awards including the highest recognition possible, the Grand SAM Award, as San Diego’s Best Overall Project Award presented by the Building Industry Association.

HBA of Northern California has recognized KTGY as a MAME Awards finalist in four categories including Best Architectural Design of an Attached Project, Best Architectural Design of a Detached Home – 2,000 to 3,000 sq. ft., Best Architectural Design of a Detached Home – 3,000 to 4,000 sq. ft., and Community of the Year. Winners will be announced on April 26, 2008 at the annual awards show sponsored by the Sales and Marketing Council of the HBA of Northern California. This is the 31st year for the highly coveted MAME Awards in Northern California.

Arroyo Crossing in Livermore, Calif. is a MAME Award finalist in the award categories of Best Architectural Design of a Detached Home – 2,000 to 3,000 Sq. Ft. for Arroyo Crossings – Classics - Plan One and Three; Best Architectural Design of a Detached Home – 3,000 to 4,000 Sq. Ft. for Arroyo Crossing – Estates - Plan One and Six; and Community of the Year. O’Brien Homes is the builder. In February 2008, Arroyo Crossing won three Silver Awards in The Nationals award competition in the categories of Best Single Family Detached Home Priced $650,000 to $1 Million for its Plan Four, Best Single Family Detached Home Priced $1 Million to $2 Million for its Plan Six, and Detached Community of the Year Over $750,000 in The Nationals award competition.

“There is a long history of collaboration between O’Brien Homes and KTGY. Together we have designed new communities and homes that have those special touches and are sensitive to the environment as well as compliment the existing surroundings,” says Williams. “The relationship between O’Brien Homes and KTGY started in 1992 with the new urbanist community of Victorian Harbor in Suisun City. The goals and ideals of both companies partner well in responding to local market demands, creating value and developing memorable home designs.”

The Arroyo Crossing community has a total of 11 designs with each one having distinctive architecture and yet well integrated into the other neighborhoods within Arroyo Crossing. The Estates, which target the boomers, provides a transition area or buffer to the neighboring semi-custom homes with the Classics providing a slightly higher density solution for the family market. The varying lot sizes, home sizes and one-story, one and a half and two-story designs continue a traditional infill fabric.

Additionally, KTGY’s Vantage of Palo Alto is a MAME Award finalist for the Best Architectural Design of an Attached Project. Vantage of Palo Alto’s strong, articulated geometry, and sleek palette express a decidedly contemporary character within this commercial zone. Offering an eco-friendly, contemporary community with urban townhome style living, Vantage of Palo Alto features two story tuck-under dwellings with approx. 1,197 to 1,605 sq. ft. and attached two-car garages. Clean lines, corner glazing and focal elements animate two-level social zone. Warmington Homes of California is the builder.

“Vantage of Palo Alto successfully supports the City of Palo Alto’s green building initiative with its eco-friendly building materials, solar panels and energy efficient design. As a member of Build-It Green as well as USGBC, KTGY continues to stay at the forefront of this dynamic industry and have LEED accredited and sustainability/green building experts. We work in partnership with our clients to get the most benefit from incorporating eco-friendly and sustainable architecture programs into our buildings and designs,” said Chris Texter, AIA, principal at KTGY.
