LTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. --- Mercantile Commercial Capital, LLC, which plans to open Emergent National Bank (proposed), a business bank in Winter Park in December, has appointed a new board member and executive vice president and senior lender.
Geof Longstaff, chairman of Mercantile Commercial Capital, LLC, which will be a division of the new bank, said Jim Lane has been appointed to Emergent National Bank’s (proposed) board of directors. Lane is a former senior partner at Price Waterhouse Coopers, Longstaff said.
Dwayne Hamner was appointed executive vice president and senior lender at Emergent National Bank (proposed), Longstaff said. Hamner, a former executive at SunTrust Banks and First Mercantile National Bank, most recently served as a development partner with Sumner Kramer of Winter Park.
“Now is probably the best time to start a bank, as the bank will search out new customers and new relationships, many of which will feel underserved by their banks who are at the present time dealing with the problems that financial institutions are experiencing,”
Bank directors have already applied for a charter and plan to lease a 16,000 square foot office building at 501 New York Ave. in Winter Park as the bank’s headquarters.
Opening date is set for Dec. 1, Longstaff said.
